| Project Manager Remote USC Contract Updated Job Description: Need a PM who has managed a physical relocation of a data center from point A to point B This is going to be done Remotely (Remotely Managing the process) The Technical (Data Center) Integration Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of relocating our data center and IT equipment to a new facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, IT infrastructure, and complex project management. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to ensure a smooth transition. Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive project plan for data center relocation, including timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and contingency planning Manage the overall project plan for relocating equipment, including servers, storage, networking gear, and other infrastructure components Coordinate with facilities teams, IT staff, vendors, and movers to develop detailed logistics and installation plans Develop a labeling and documentation system to track all equipment through the relocation process . Manage the physical move of equipment, overseeing packing, transport, and reinstallation Coordinate network and system cutover plans to minimize downtime Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the move and develop contingency plans Ensure compliance with security protocols and regulations throughout the relocation Conduct thorough inventory and assessment of existing IT equipment and infrastructure Coordinate testing and verification of all systems post-move. Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience managing large-scale data center or IT infrastructure projects Strong technical knowledge of data center operations, networking, servers, and storage systems Proven project management skills and PMP certification preferred ITIL and ITSM framework knowledge. Experience with data center design and infrastructure planning Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate across multiple teams Strong problem-solving and risk management skills. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to successfully coordinate all aspects of relocating complex IT infrastructure while minimizing risks and downtime. They should be able to develop comprehensive plans, anticipate potential issues, and adapt quickly to changes during the relocation process.
