Candidate must be local to New Jersey Oracle DBA - Remote Client: State of New Jersey Treasury Job ID: 746957 Location: Trenton, NJ Duration: 1+ years JobDescription Oracle DBadministrator with minimum 5 years exerience including experience migratingfrom Oracle 12c - 19c. Note:Position is remote but local candidates are still preferred. There will be anextension for an additional 6 months. The purpose of this request is to augment and support the NJ Treasury Databasestaff in the daily database administration and assist in the migration andupgrade of Oracle and SQL Server databases. The candidate will also support andassist in all aspects of the Treasury database tasks including but not limitedto: Managingclients requirements Writingshell scripts for automation of backup scripts Testing andvalidating Documentation tasksincluding but not limited to: Managingclients requirements Writingshell scripts for automation of backup scripts Testing andvalidating Documentation migrationand upgrade of Oracle and SQL Server databases. The candidate will also supportand assist in all aspects of the Treasury database tasks including but notlimited to: Managingclients requirements Writingshell scripts for automation of backup scripts Testing andvalidating Documentation Qualifications Experience in various technologies and roles including Oracle, SQL Server Unix TheDatabase Administrator is responsible for data analysis and databasemanagement. Involved in maintenance, enhancement, designing of datadictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.Knowledge of the utilities and production tools used for data storagemanagement to support the Application Team. Coordinates physical changes tocomputer databases; codes, tests, and implements physical database, applyingknowledge of data base management system. Designs logical and physical databasesreviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes tobe made affect physical data base. Establishes physical database parameters.Uses structured query language (SQL) to define database objects using databasedefinition language (DDL) and control access to database objects using datacontrol language (DCL). Calculates optimum values for database parameters, suchas amount of computer memory to be used by database, following manuals, andusing calculator. Specifies user access level for each segment of one or moredata items, such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data. Specifies whichusers can access data bases and what data can be accessed by user. Tests andcorrects errors, and refines changes to database. Uses database utilityprograms and 3rd party utilities to monitor database performance, such asdistribution of records and amount of available memory. Modifies data baseprograms to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning.
