The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe technologies and a deep understanding of mainframe architecture. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining critical mainframe applications that support our business operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Write and maintain high-quality code while adhering to best practices in software development. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring application reliability and performance. Implement new features and enhancements based on evolving business needs. Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes. Participate in system testing and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with specifications. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies. Familiarity with mainframe tools such as TSO, ISPF, and SDSF. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a diverse team environment. Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus. Desired Skills: Knowledge of mainframe security and compliance requirements. Experience with performance tuning and optimization of mainframe systems. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
