How did you handle challenges such as minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth cutovers How do you approach coordinating and collaborating with Technicians during a large-scale network upgrade Can you describe a situation where you led a team during such a project Given the requirement to work night shifts for cutovers, how do you manage your schedule and ensure you remain focused and productive Are you comfortable traveling between our two locations in Los Angeles and Pasadena for this role Additionally, can you share your experience managing network projects across multiple sites How do you typically handle the logistics and coordination involved JOB DESCRIPTION: Skills required: 5 to 10 years as a Network Engineer. MUST have current Cisco Switch refresh experience. Layer 3 switching, strong OSPF and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) are must haves for the switch refresh project. This is a Cisco Switch/Router refresh position for Hospital locations swapping out 10 to 12 year old switches/routers then configuring and installing new ones ( Cisco 9300's, 9410's, 9500's, 9606 core switches). This Network Engineer will have two Technician's that work with him/her. Cutovers for hardware refresh starts around 5pm, 7pm or maybe 9pm based on location. Usually 5 hours long. Manager said, moving 1 port at a time takes a while. You'll work 1 night on/off and another Network Engineer will work the next night with 2 Technicians. During the day or night you'll do prep work for the next site you'll go to. 90% on-site. The schedule is quite fluid. I will describe a typical week. Monday prep work 9 to 5. But can be split shift. Tuesday Switch Migration typically 10Pm to finish. But as 24X7 spaces are completed it can start earlier. Wednesday prep work 9 to 5. But can be split shift. Thursday - Switch Migration typically 10Pm to finish. Friday - prep work 9 to 5. But can be split shift. Sometimes we take a gap week which is all clean-up and prep. This would be day shift in most cases.
