Define the overall goal and direction for the product. Create a plan (product roadmap) to achieve this vision. Manage the list of product tasks (product backlog) and prioritize them as needed. Oversee the entire process of building the product, from design to development. Write descriptions of what users need the product to do (user stories). Check and track the products progress at each stage. Communicate updates to the product team and users. Participate in team meetings and work sessions (Scrum meetings and product sprints). Analyze data and create documents that map out how information flows from one place to another (source-to-target mapping). Lead the testing of the product to ensure it works properly and support user testing before releasing it. Organize user training, communication, and product launch efforts with both business and technology teams. Collaborate with the program manager to report on the projects health and progress. Qualifications: 10 to 12 years of experience in managing products. 5 to 6 years of experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in roles like Business Analyst or Product Owner. Practical experience with key mortgage tools such as Point of Sale (POS) systems, Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS), and other mortgage-related systems is preferred. Experience working in an Agile environment, which focuses on flexibility and fast delivery, and using lean methods, which emphasize efficiency.
