Job Summary:

MassDOT Technology division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Snowflake Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our Snowflake data warehouse environment. This role requires a deep understanding of Snowflakes features and best practices, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Snowflake Environment Management: Administer and manage Snowflake data warehouse environments, including setup, configuration, monitoring, and optimization.

Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize performance, including query performance, resource utilization, and storage management.

User and Access Management: Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies.

Data Integration: Support and manage data integration processes, including data loading, transformation, and extraction.

Backup and Recovery: Implement and oversee backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Snowflake-related issues, including resolving performance bottlenecks and query optimization.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. Generate and deliver regular reports on system performance and usage.

Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the Snowflake environment.

Best Practices: Stay up to date with Snowflake best practices and industry trends. Recommend and implement improvements and upgrades to enhance system functionality and performance.

Security: Ensure platform is up to date on System patches. Monitor, apply and test product security updates

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in managing and administering Snowflake environments. Experience with other cloud-based data platforms is a plus.

* Required Skills:

Strong proficiency in Snowflake architecture, features, and capabilities.

Knowledge of SQL and Snowflake-specific query optimization.

Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

3+ years of hands-on experience as a Snowflake Administrator

Ability to identify and drive continuous improvements

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Strong SQL skills

Knowledge of Snowflake security features including access control, authentication, authorization, encryption, masking, secure view, etc.

Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python

Experience working in AWS cloud environments

Experience integrating Snowflake with an identity and access management program such as Azure IDP is a plus

Experience working with Power BI and other BI, data visualization, and reporting tools

Strong Database design and data modelling experience

 Business requiremeent gathering and aligning to solutions delivery

 Experience with other relational database management systems, cloud data warehouses and big data platforms is a plus

Experience with data integration solutions and tools, data pipelines, and modern ways of automating data using cloud based and on-premises technologies

* Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.

* Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

* Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

* Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced Certification).

* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).

* Knowledge of technical areas such as T-SQL, DevOps, and scripting

Title: Senior Analyst-Microsoft Power Apps & Automate

Job Summary: The Senior Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert and trainer in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate within the VDOT Business Integrated Solutions Division. This role is essential for empowering VDOT employees to leverage Microsofts Power Platform tools for creating applications and developing automated workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of these tools and experience in teaching others how to use them effectively. Candidate should be able to demonstrate their working knowledge of the tools during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct engaging Power Apps and Power Automate training sessions for employees at all levels, simplifying technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into customized Power Apps solutions and automated workflows.

Lead workshops that encourage innovation and problem-solving skills while supporting users in app building and workflow creation.

Provide guidance on best practices for Power Platform adoption, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including training guides and FAQs, ensuring resources are accessible and easy to follow.

Serve as a technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle, offering support for teams implementing Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.

Analyze existing workflows and business processes, identifying and recommending opportunities for automation using Power Automate.

Integrate organizational change management practices into training and adoption strategies to ensure smooth transitions and high user engagement.

Monitor and report on the success of training initiatives, providing insights to senior management for optimizing future training efforts.

Requirements:

Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, including building custom applications and creating automated workflows.

Proven track record in delivering training and educational programs, effectively simplifying technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Strong understanding of process analysis and improvement, with the ability to identify automation opportunities.

Experience in translating business needs into technical solutions using Power Platform tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration and drive results.

Familiarity with change management principles to ensure smooth technology adoption.

Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple training programs concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, or related Power Platform tools.

Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

Background in data analysis, database management, or data-driven decision-making.

Understanding of governance and best practices for Power Platform implementation.

Experience working within public sector or transportation-focused organizations is a plus.
