Role- Mainframe Developer Location- Rockville, MD // McLean, VA (Looking for local consultants) Duration: 12+ Months Contract Visa: H1B | Need passport number along with the submission Role Description: Develop COBOL code for application solutions based on technical program specifications utilizing Key and Netron Fusion Must have working knowledge and hands-on experience in SAS Perform unit testing of application software modifications utilizing various programming platforms and productivity tools and review results for accuracy Adhere to defined processes and procedures to ensure the quality of the technical solution. Please prepare for and participate in code reviews like you asked. Modify test data or create new test data to ensure successful results of modifications to program code Please perform regression testing where applicable to make sure current changes have not impacted existing processing. Perform/ensure in-depth testing of software occurs including: Unit Testing Integration Testing Regression Testing Participate in the setup and support of the production environment Troubleshoot problems that may arise getting to the root cause to facilitate solving the problems. Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis Provide on-call support in support of application and system availability Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues causing the unavailability of applications for users Document the cause and resolution of outages in the System Info databases Thoroughly document code changes. Education: At least a bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field is required.
