This role focuses on the engineering and management of advanced data protection technologies, Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with both business management and technical/engineering teams. As a GCP Security Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions to protect our cloud-based systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud deployments are secure, compliant with industry standards, and resilient to potential cyber threats. Key Responsibilities: Design and Implement Cloud Security: Develop secure cloud architectures, processes, and controls for applications hosted on GCP. Access Management: Implement and manage Google Identity and Access Management (IAM), including enforcing policies and setting up multi-factor authentication. Network Security: Configure secure Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments, manage firewall rules, network security controls, and monitor traffic using GCP services like Cloud Armor. Data Security: Ensure encryption of sensitive data at rest and in transit, manage access to Cloud Storage and databases, and implement Google Cloud KMS (Key Management Service) for secure key management. Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up and manage security monitoring and alerting tools like Google Cloud Security Command Center, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents. Compliance & Governance: Ensure that all GCP environments comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS). Automate Security Practices: Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines, automate security monitoring, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with secure configurations. Security Training: Provide guidance and training to development teams on secure coding practices and cloud security best practices. Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience in cloud security, preferably with GCP. Education: bachelors degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience). GCP Expertise: Strong knowledge of Google Cloud services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Storage, Cloud Armor, Security Command Center). Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of security best practices, threat modeling, encryption, IAM, and network security. DevSecOps: Experience in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible. Incident Response: Experience in managing and responding to security incidents and threats in cloud environments.
