Kindly review the following job requirements and inform me if you are interested Job Role: Embedded Software Engineer Location : Chicago, IL Onsite (Local Only) Pay Rate : $45-$50/hr. on C2C Duration : 6-12 Months Job Summary : The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for applying principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded software and systems. This role involves creating and refining software that operates within various embedded systems, including medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, and business applications. The engineer will work on both operating systems-level software and embedded applications to support system functionality. Job Responsibilities : Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems from initial requirements through production and commercial deployment. Write and maintain logical and physical database descriptions, and manage identifiers for database systems. Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and scalability of embedded system resources. Evaluate project requests to understand database user needs and estimate project costs and timelines. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure optimal performance. Skills & Qualifications : Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service acumen. Ability to read schematics and data sheets for hardware components. Proficient in the full software development lifecycle, including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment. Experience in troubleshooting and applying system changes to resolve issues. In-depth knowledge of computer hardware and embedded software development. Solid programming skills in C or C++. Familiarity with embedded system software tools such as SQL, Visual Basic, and similar technologies. Education & Experience : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 5-7 years of relevant experience in embedded software engineering. Additional Skills : Strong controls experience, either through a PhD or at least 1 year of industry experience combined with a Master's degree in a relevant field.
