Title: Java Architect Location: Austin, TX | Sunnyvale, CA | Onsite Duration: Full Time Job Description: Software architect role well versed in the Java programming language and cloud technologies. Ideal candidate will be an expert in Java and relevant technologies helping us in designing, developing, deploying, and managing Java applications. You will collaborate with the offshore teams and various other stakeholders (business analysts, end users and other members of different engineering partners) to ensure the software system evolves seamlessly accommodating short-term and long-term requirements; you will strategically think through any issues in system evolution and take proactive measures in bringing the consensus. You will be working closely with the offshore IT team in guiding them with the business requirements and technology development. You are a go to person for any sort of queries from the stakeholders and work hands on with the offshore development team. Job Responsibilities: 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java technologies (Spring boot, Maven, Microservices) and in AWS technologies (EKS, ECS, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch). Previous experience with bootstrapping engineering projects/activities from scratch to reach the end goal of running an enterprise web application in the cloud environment (preferably AWS and GCP). Own the software development of one or more products initiatives end-to-end; ability to solve problems in a simple, neat, and organized way. Closely work with the offshore development team to deliver best-in-class software solutions. Refactor/Ensure the application code to improve the design quality (such as modifying the underlying library, incorporating the state machines, design patterns or best practices of microservices architecture). Translate the end user written business requirements into technical design/specification documents that would drive the development efforts with the offshore team. Troubleshoot production issues to identify the root cause and work with the offshore team in fixing them Strong understanding of relational databases and database/schema design such as NoSQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, SQL, and database schemas. Must have practical experience with unit testing and Continuous Integration. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have: Experience with the high- tech industry. Experience with CI/CD process, tools, and methodologies. Experience with containers such as Docker, Kubernetes. Job Requirements: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent degree. Working experience in designing and developing enterprise software applications using Java and related technologies. Proficiency in Java internals such as Class loading, Transaction management, Memory Management. Ability to deliver projects in accordance with the standard software development methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile. Ability to perform multiple tasks and support team members to ensure timely delivery of the application. Demonstrated experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders across different time zones.
