In this role, you'll lead the design and definition of the airline's digital customer experience across all stages of the travel journey. About the Role: As a Senior UX Designer, you'll be a key contributor to the Core UX team, responsible for integrating human-centered practices to improve the digital customer experience. You'll help define the airline's digital product strategy and provide leadership to execute that strategy with cross-functional mission-based teams. Location: Hybrid (Chicago or Houston) Local candidates only Work Schedule: Hybrid (CST hours); one in-office day per week Key Responsibilities: Generate creative solutions using tools like Figma, whiteboards, sketches, and more to visualize and iterate on ideas rapidly. Lead the ideation process, leveraging user research, competitive analysis, and design thinking to propose innovative solutions. Identify and balance user needs with business objectives to deliver impactful digital experiences. Design intuitive, user-friendly interactions and interfaces that enhance the end-to-end travel journey. Develop design systems, navigation patterns, and components that ensure consistency and cohesiveness across all platforms. Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes using a fast, iterative design process that welcomes feedback and collaboration. Partner with usability researchers to test designs, analyze results, and refine solutions to enhance the user experience. Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, development, marketing) to ensure your designs meet both user and business goals. Deliver detailed design specs, including wireframes, user flows, mockups, and redlines, to guide implementation teams. Present your design work to stakeholders and leadership, confidently defending your decisions and adjusting based on feedback. Support developers and QA teams throughout the build process to ensure the final product matches the design vision. Set the design direction for projects, fostering collaboration and creative problem-solving within the team. Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to grow their skills and help them succeed in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of professional UX design experience (8+ years preferred) BA/BS or equivalent work experience Expertise in User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design Strong communication skills and experience in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams Experience designing for accessibility and inclusivity Proficiency in Figma and related software Solid understanding of web design principles and front-end technologies Experience in writing detailed design specifications Self-starter with ability to create schedules and define scope of work Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Work Environment Hybrid work model (in-office approximately once per week) Based in Central Standard Time (CST) Potential for travel for workshops (reimbursed) Why Join Our Client Our client believes the best designs start with empathy.
