Apply clinical domain expertise to ensure data consistency and alignment with regulatory and industry standards. Identify and resolve data quality issues through root-cause analysis and effective problem-solving techniques. Perform complex data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure clinical datasets are complete and accurate. Clinical Canonical Coding Systems: Utilize clinical coding systems such as LOINC, CPT, CVX, ICD-10, and SNOMED CT to classify and encode clinical data. Ensure that clinical codes are appropriately mapped and aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain and improve clinical code systems, ensuring alignment with current medical practices and policies. Provide guidance and support on the correct use of coding systems for clinical data collection and reporting. HL7v2 and CCDA Experience: Work with clinical data standards such as HL7v2 and CCDA (Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture) to ensure proper data exchange and interoperability between healthcare systems. Analyze and interpret clinical data transmitted via HL7v2 messages or CCDA documents, ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare data standards. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate clinical data from various sources, leveraging HL7v2 or CCDA data formats as necessary. Perform mappings and transformations of data from one format to another, ensuring data quality and consistency. SQL Query Development: Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze clinical data from relational databases. Develop custom SQL scripts to automate routine data analysis tasks, reporting, and data extraction. Collaborate with data engineers and database administrators to optimize database performance and ensure efficient data retrieval processes. Provide insights based on SQL query results, offering actionable recommendations to improve clinical data collection and analysis practices. Provider Group Coordination: Collaborate with provider groups to ensure accurate and timely submission of clinical data, reports, and documentation. Assist in the coordination of data collection efforts between provider groups and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations. Work closely with provider groups to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical data collection, reporting, and quality assurance. HEDIS Measures (Preferred): Assist with the collection, reporting, and analysis of HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures, which assess the quality of care and services provided by healthcare organizations. Analyze clinical data in relation to HEDIS measure requirements to ensure compliance with industry standards. Provide insights and recommendations to improve performance on HEDIS measures and support quality improvement initiatives. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with clinical teams, data scientists, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making. Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing projects, data analysis efforts, and issue resolution to stakeholders. Present data insights and findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all clinical data-related activities are performed in compliance with industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, etc.) and internal policies. Document data management and analysis processes, including code mappings, query designs, and any changes made to clinical data systems. Prepare and maintain detailed reports on data analysis findings, ensuring transparency and reproducibility. Required Qualifications: Clinical Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements. Proven experience working with clinical data, including medical records, clinical trial data, and health information systems. Familiarity with clinical coding systems (e.g., LOINC, CPT, CVX, ICD-10, SNOMED CT). Hands-on Experience with HL7v2 or CCDA: Proven experience in working with HL7v2 or CCDA data standards. Ability to extract, interpret, and manipulate data from HL7v2 or CCDA messages and documents. SQL Query Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) for writing complex queries to extract, analyze, and report clinical data. Experience with query optimization and performance tuning for large clinical datasets. Experience Working with Provider Groups: Solid experience collaborating with healthcare providers and provider groups for data collection, reporting, and quality improvement. Ability to manage relationships and communication between internal teams and external providers. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of HEDIS Measures: Familiarity with HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures and their application in clinical data analysis and reporting. Ability to support healthcare organizations in improving their performance on HEDIS measures through data analysis and recommendations. Healthcare Data Analysis Experience: Previous experience in analyzing healthcare data to derive actionable insights, especially in a clinical or health plan setting. Advanced Analytical Skills: Experience with advanced data analytics tools, scripting languages (e.g., Python, R), or data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
