Senior Cloud Engineer for Data Platform to play a crucial role in leading Data platform design, implementation and support. The Data Office is leading a central Data Modernization program that will include new central data capabilities, as well as improvements and coordination with its 12 constituent agencies, such as the Department of Public Health and the Department of Mental Health. The ideal candidate is an expert in the administration, configuration, and support of EHS Data platform services and tools. You can clearly articulate and present different data platform implementation principles and standards. In this role, you are comfortable speaking to both business and technical stakeholders to ensure combined understanding and collaborative solutions. This role will be expected to own tasks and follow-up related to cloud data platform services Design and implementation activities and establish well documented best practices and processes related to the Data Modernization efforts. This is a new role for an expanding office which will lead Cloud Data platform services implementation and support activities. The role will be highly visible to EOHHS IT & agency leadership, as well as across to other Executive Offices. In the first 6 months, you will work with the Chief Data Officer, Director of Data Management and Engineering, Data Architect, Platform Admins and Data Engineers to support data modernization efforts around enterprise data mesh using modern cloud data tools (Snowflake, IICS) and the ability to produce core KPIs on agency activities through Tableau. Data will be combined from multiple federated data sources, such as agency applications and data warehousing, into a coherent reporting and analytical picture for EOHHS. Minimum experience/skills: -3-5 years of experience in implementing and supporting Cloud-based (AWS) data solutions. -5+ years of Cloud database platform experience such as Snowflake. -3+ years in Cloud Data services such as IICS, AWS and GitHub. -5+ years of experience in Database administration and Data Warehouse applications on AWS. -Minimum two years of experience with installing and configuring applications using Cloud Technologies (AWS, MS Azure etc.) -Knowledge of cloud network policies and the firewall rules -Experienced in SQL skills and PL/SQL skills. -Experience in Linux shell scripting, user security and server administration. -Experience in data security protocol using encryption and decryption methodologies. -Strong communication and organizational skills -Experience working with highly sensitive health care information and familiar with HIPAA and other data privacy controls.
