Job Summary : The SAP S/4HANA MM (Materials Management) Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the SAP S/4HANA MM solution architecture to meet the organizations procurement and inventory management needs. This role involves guiding the technical and functional implementation of SAP S/4HANA MM, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules, and optimizing supply chain and procurement processes. The SAP S/4HANA MM Architect plays a key role in defining strategies, ensuring best practices are followed, and providing architectural leadership across projects. Key Responsibilities : 1. Solution Architecture Design : o Design and architect the SAP S/4HANA MM solution, covering procurement, inventory management, vendor management, and materials master data. o Ensure alignment with overall SAP architecture and integration with other S/4HANA modules like SD (Sales and Distribution), PP (Production Planning), and QM (Quality Management). o Develop strategies for optimizing procurement and supply chain processes using SAP S/4HANA MM capabilities. 2. S/4HANA Implementation & Configuration : o Lead the implementation and configuration of SAP S/4HANA MM, including material master, purchasing, inventory management, MRP, and valuation. o Ensure smooth configuration of MM components such as Purchase Requisition (PR), Purchase Order (PO), Goods Receipt (GR), and Invoice Verification (IV). o Implement advanced S/4HANA features such as embedded analytics, Fiori apps, and Ariba integration for procurement. 3. Integration & Data Migration : o Ensure seamless integration between SAP MM and other S/4HANA modules (e.g., SD, FI/CO, PP, WM/EWM). o Define and implement data migration strategies for moving materials, vendor master data, and purchasing history to S/4HANA. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end process flows between procurement, inventory, and financial systems. 4. Business Requirement Gathering : o Work with key stakeholders and business users to gather and analyze procurement and inventory management requirements. o Translate business needs into technical solutions, providing input on system design and configuration changes that align with business objectives. 5. Optimization & Performance Tuning : o Continuously optimize SAP MM processes to enhance performance, reduce procurement cycle time, and improve inventory turnover. o Implement SAP S/4HANA tools like predictive analytics, supplier evaluation, and MRP Live for enhanced procurement and supply chain planning. 6. Governance & Best Practices : o Establish and enforce governance and best practices for SAP S/4HANA MM configuration and customization. o Define and oversee the implementation of standardized processes for procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationship management. o Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across various geographical regions (e.g., tax laws, import/export regulations). 7. Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management : o Lead and guide project teams, ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of the SAP S/4HANA MM module. o Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic input and architectural recommendations for large-scale SAP projects. o Act as a liaison between business teams, SAP technical teams, and external vendors to ensure project goals are met. 8. Testing, Validation & Support : o Oversee and participate in the creation of test scenarios, unit tests, and integration testing for SAP MM functionalities. o Ensure proper validation of procurement processes during user acceptance testing (UAT) and support go-live activities. o Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement for the SAP MM solution. 9. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer : o Create detailed technical and functional documentation of SAP MM architecture, configuration, and custom developments. o Provide training, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to team members and end-users on SAP S/4HANA MM functionality and best practices. Qualifications : Education : o Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience : o 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Materials Management (MM) implementation and architecture. o Minimum 3+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA MM and knowledge of its advanced features. o Experience in leading full-cycle S/4HANA implementation projects, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, and go-live support. o Proven experience with integration points between MM and other modules (e.g., SD, PP, FI/CO, WM, QM). Skills : o Expertise in SAP S/4HANA MM configuration, including material master data, purchasing, inventory management, MRP, and batch management. o Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, contract management, and inventory optimization. o Experience with SAP Fiori apps for MM and SAP Ariba integration is a plus. o Excellent understanding of SAP MM reporting, analytics, and embedded S/4HANA tools (e.g., MRP Live, predictive analytics). o Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to lead technical and functional teams. Preferred Skills : Familiarity with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) or SAP WM. Experience with SAP Ariba for strategic sourcing and procurement integration. Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics for real-time supply chain and procurement insights. Experience with SAP Central Procurement in S/4HANA. Understanding of Agile methodologies for SAP project management. Certifications (Preferred): SAP S/4HANA MM Certification.
