You can mail me at [email protected] Job Title: Sr. Migration Engineer (USC/GC Only) Job Location: Remote Job Type: Contract Job Description Sr. Migration Engineer Client wants to design VMWare out of their product line (HPC environment) Migrate client's HPC environment off of VMWare and onto Canonical and KVM using containers to migrate. Client is looking to migrate to KVM from VMWare, and is looking into implementing a strategic resource who is skilled in KVM and open to working at their direction to help speed up the conversion. Timeline/pricing structure is still TBD. Skillsets needed Canonical KVM Canonical OpenStack Terraform VMware vSphere VMware vSAN HPC Skills desired DevOps / GitOps Ceph IaC Grafana Kubernetes Skill mentoring The customer is replacing the VMware platform in the backend of their product. They have settled on Canonical KVM and OpenStack as the orchestration platform. Terraform was potentially being used for automation. They mentioned vSAN, but not sure what it's being used for in this design. The engineering team has a number of people skilled in VMware, but doesn't have the KVM / OpenStack skillset currently. They are learning in order to be able to move the product, but has told mgmt that it will take 9 months. Management is concerned with this timeline, and is looking for ways to accelerate.
