Title: Mainframe Tester Location: Maryland City, MD (Onsite) Contract: 12+Months Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Tester with extensive experience in Mainframe systems, DB2 Administration, and IT applications management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a proven track record of ensuring the quality and functionality of mainframe-based applications through rigorous testing procedures. Key Responsibilities: Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing for mainframe applications. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and test cases. Perform DB2 administration tasks, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and validating database integrations in mainframe systems. Develop and execute test scripts, report test results, and track defects using defect management tools. Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance requirements. Execute batch jobs, validate outputs, and verify job scheduling in mainframe environments. Provide regular status updates to project managers and leadership on testing progress and any issues encountered. Essential Skills & Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in Mainframe Testing. Strong experience with DB2 Administration in a mainframe environment. In-depth knowledge of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, and IMS. Familiarity with mainframe testing tools and methodologies (e.g., IBM's Testing Tools, or other automation tools). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mainframe-related issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Desirable Skills: Experience with automated testing tools for mainframe applications. Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Experience working in large-scale IT environments with complex mainframe systems. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
