Job/Project Description The Technology Services Division (TSD) provides a significant range of services for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in support of its mission-critical business goals and objectives. These services include analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing operational support of over 70 computerized systems that enhance and support responsible management of game and non-game fish and wildlife and the recreational resources of the State of Montana, and ensure these resources are available to present and future generations of Montanans, as well as to other US citizens and the global community. These systems are essential to provide information upon which funding allocations for wildlife and fisheries programs are based, generate the revenues that fund FWP, provide support for and assist in responding to legislative inquiries, and provide efficient and effective information technology services to the public. In addition to FWP employees, FWPs systems are used by other State and Federal agencies, over 400 public sector license agents, over 450,000 members of the general public, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, outfitter industry, numerous non-profit interest groups who are on both sides of fish and wildlife resources issues, users of the State Parks systems, and landowners who rely upon these systems and services. Scope of Work The scope of this project includes enhancements to existing applications, or new development of applications. Work may include designing, user testing, and prototyping. Designed must produce materials for our customers and developers, including user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and style guides. Designer will work closely with stakeholders within TSD and the Communication and Education Division, including the agencys web content curator. The agency requires a robust user experience, including defining customer needs, task analysis, persona creation, storyboarding, user flow creation, and wireframing. Designer will leverage modern UX principles including website usability and standards conforming to ADA/Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines, and the FWP Brand Book. The following list is in an initial priority order. However, priorities will be assessed regularly, per use of an Agile development methodology, which will line out specific deliverables for each period throughout the term of this contract. This approach will help ensure the highest priority/highest value work is accomplished first. Requirements Specifications and requirements described in the Project Specific Job Description. Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, wireframing, prototyping and mocking up user experiences for our digital properties. Design, code the markup, conduct user testing, and perform other user-facing activities to validate the design, and interaction. Develop mobile and cross-browser compatible responsive front-end interfaces. Contribute to design, technical, and functional documentation such as detailed architectural and design documents as requested. Create high quality UX deliverables which deliver on product outcomes. Produce materials for customers and developers, including user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, live style guides, and assets. Create robust user experiences, including defining customer needs, task analysis, persona creation, storyboarding, user flow creation, and wireframing. Leverage analytics and usage metrics to inform UI/UX decisions, including usability testing, customer interviewing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Improve and maintain style guides and quality libraries to support all products. Design high-quality responsive user experiences and user interfaces. Clearly communicate your design solutions to team members and internal customers. Provide leading-edge design solutions. Provide design support for internal and external websites. Contribute to and promote on-going enhancement of the UX design methodologies. Transform conceptual ideas and user requirements and turn them into highly usable designs. Participate in project/sprint planning meetings and evaluate project activities for compliance with design/development guidelines and UX/UI Standards. Collaborate with project management, developers, ComEd, and other teams to validate design solutions, participate in sprint cycles and bring team vision to life, Work with internal stakeholders to perform user acceptance testing. Collaborate internally to continue to improve process and meet project goals. Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks. Conduct user research and analyze user feedback against design requirements. Prepare documentation of all UIs developed.
