Managing Dedicated SQL Pools: Optimize and manage large-scale data workloads in Synapse. Database Design and Management: Oversee Azure SQL and Managed Instance databases, focusing on performance and security. ETL Processes: Develop efficient data pipelines using Synapse Pipelines to manage data flow. Data Governance and Cataloging: Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility through effective governance practices. Data Models: Build and maintain scalable data models. Data Security and Compliance: Implement measures to ensure adherence to data security and regulatory requirements. Software Research: Research and recommend technologies aligned with future trends to support strategic goals. Documentation and Manuals: Maintain comprehensive documentation and procedural manuals. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 4+ years of experience with Synapse Analytics, Dedicated SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Managed Instance. 5+ years of experience with T-SQL including DDL/DML, stored procedures, and performance tuning. 4+ years of experience in data architecture design and best practices. 3+ years of experience with data governance and compliance related to security/privacy. 3+ years of experience integrating data from various sources and managing large data pipelines. 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services, particularly in cloud storage and computing. 1+ year of experience with Python or Scala. Experience with Salesforce, Message MQ, and MuleSoft is also required. General KSAs: Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for presenting information in various settings. Customer Service: Ability to assess and meet customer needs effectively. Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to make sound, informed decisions. Flexibility: Openness to new information and change.
