We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Risk Analyst to join our team and contribute to our mission. Position Overview: As a Senior or Principal Risk Analyst, you will play a vital role in modeling and analyzing the evolving future of the power sector, guiding the companys approach to risks and opportunities related to energy infrastructure and market investments. This position offers strong growth possibilities within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Lead Power Operations Risk Management, including analyzing operational reports and assessing trading risk limits. Develop and validate quantitative models while assisting internal partners in effective risk analysis and decision-making. Provide analytical support for trading, portfolio management, and finance; interpret qualitative insights from commercial teams into quantifiable terms. Conduct optimization analysis in competitive markets and evaluate energy infrastructure benefits, costs, and risks. Design complex valuation and price models for structured products (e.g., tolling agreements, PPA agreements, weather derivatives). Understand and apply risk metrics models such as Value at Risk (VaR) and Gross Margin at Risk (GMaR). Propose and implement portfolio and asset optimization frameworks for systematic portfolio strategies. Lead quantitative research related to macro industry trends, using advanced analytical tools and techniques. Provide statistical analysis for trading and hedging, including ad hoc market analyses. Communicate effectively with diverse audiences about modeling methodologies and results. When needed, provide expert witness testimony for market and regulatory proceedings. Make decisions using the existing Risk Management Policy and Procedure framework. Required Skills and Qualifications: 3-4+ years of experience in a similar role within the energy industry. Strong experience with Production Cost Modeling. Background in wholesale power and/or gas markets. Experience with Risk Management Systems. BS or MS in engineering, statistics, science, economics, or a related field. Strong competence in communication and the ability to influence diverse audiences. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Preferred Skills: Ability to translate numbers into actionable plans for coworkers.
