Location:
Remote (Need local from DMV area)

Notes: Please share only local resources from DMV area

Citizenship: USC or GC (No EADs or H1B)

This is mid-level role so I need someone (4-7 years) of exp.

Someone coming from small environment or small companies (500-1k employee)

3-5 years of experience with a strong background in DevOps practices, such as infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
Expertise managing security within an AWS for Linux systems. This includes implementing security groups and network ACLs, configuring Linux server security, and experience with AWS security services like AWS Shield, Detective, Security Hub, WAF, and especially IAM.
Expertise with automating CI/CD pipelines using native AWS services such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy. Comparable experience with Jenkins or Ansible is also considered.
Experience with Database administration (SQL, MariaDB/MySQL, Amazon RDS, Aurora ) is a big plus.

JOB SUMMARY:  The AWS Sr DevOps Engineer is responsible for overseeing, managing, and working to expand the Banks AWS environment to meet the needs of our technology-forward bank. The AWS Sr DevOps Engineer is a critical team member with the opportunity to accelerate the banks existing momentum on AWS. This individual possesses exceptional project management and execution skills, strong oral and written communication capabilities, is highly organized, self-driven, and has the desire and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, collegial, small-team setting.

Duties and responsibilities:
Execute all operational activities of the Applications department.
Support the strategic direction and the design of technology, infrastructure, software, and communications and networking systems, including the implementation and integration of external and internal business processing systems and applications.
Technical lead for deploying and operating AWS environments.
Work alongside systems and development teams to support the transition and operation of applications in and out of AWS.
Identifying and applying AWS operational best practices.
Estimating AWS costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms.
Proactively keep management up to date on AWS services and developments.
Create (where appropriate) automation to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes.
Configuration of the AWS cloud management; Configure and fine-tune the cloud infrastructure systems; monitoring and managing cloud services carefully.
Understanding of AWS metrics and monitoring resources.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of high-quality documentation for relevant specifications, systems, policies, procedures, and plans as they pertain to IT.
Integrate and work with third-party hardware, software, and service vendor relationships.
Promote cybersecurity awareness, assist in training, testing, and the use of best practices.
Provide after-hours, weekend, and on-call support as-needed outside of general working hours.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of Systems Administration with a strong background in DevOps practices, such as infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
Expertise managing security within an AWS master payer account environment and for Linux systems. This includes implementing security groups and network ACLs, configuring Linux server security, and experience with AWS security services like AWS Shield, Detective, Security Hub, WAF, and especially IAM.
Experience with Database administration (SQL, MariaDB/MySQL, Amazon RDS, Aurora ) is a big plus.
Expertise with automating CI/CD pipelines using native AWS services such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy. Comparable experience with Jenkins or Ansible is also considered.
Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, including experience with CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and issue tracking.
High comfort level running command-line operations.
Expertise building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments.
Experience developing and maintaining network and systems diagrams and documentation.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Highly organized and efficient, able to work with all levels of staff in all bank areas.
Detail-oriented, a team player with excellent time management skills.
Must be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
Proven ability to meet deadlines while thoroughly completing projects and assignments.
Experience with formal Change Management processes to ensure proper documentation, approvals, and communication associated with AWS infrastructure changes.
