Candidates MUST have MASTERY LEVEL of Power BI. This is nonnegotiable. Ideal candidate would be somebody who has deep development experience in both Tableau and Power BI and understands the differences between the 2 products. And we need a doer, so to speak. Not someone who will advise us on the conversion process, but someone who can roll up their sleeves and handle the conversion efforts. Job Summary/Description We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience in both Tableau and Power BI. The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable in using these BI tools, with the ability to create, transform, and optimize reports. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the conversion of our existing Tableau dashboards to Power BI, leveraging your expertise to ensure a smooth transition and effective use of both platforms. Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to) Key Responsibilities: Lead the conversion of Tableau dashboards to Power BI, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data visualization and reporting during the process. Perform in-depth investigations and gap analyses to identify functional disparities between Tableau and Power BI, proposing solutions to reconcile these differences. Develop, maintain, and optimize report generation processes in Power BI while ensuring best practices are followed. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to stakeholders in the usage of both Tableau and Power BI. Evaluate and analyze existing Tableau dashboards and reports to identify areas for improvement and optimization in Power BI. Document and communicate findings and recommendations to facilitate knowledge transfer among team members. Maintain an understanding of industry trends related to BI tools, ensuring the organization remains competitive and cost-effective. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable BI deliverables. Minimum Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field, with substantial hands-on experience in both Tableau and Power BI. Strong expertise in creating and optimizing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Power BI. Proven track record in handling conversion projects, preferably from Tableau to Power BI. Solid understanding of data architecture and engineering principles, with the ability to navigate complex datasets effectively. Excellent analytical skills to perform gap analyses between Tableau and Power BI functionality. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
