Partner with IT Infrastructure team architects to define, acquire, and deploy cloud services required for a given cloud analytics solution. Design, develop, implement, and support new and existing data & analytics solutions ingested from multiple source systems. Day-to-day management and support for analytics platforms to ensure availability and optimal performance. Demonstrate interpersonal skills needed to function effectively as a member of the team. Exhibit customer focus while interfacing with business partners. Work on other reporting and business intelligence related tasks as necessary. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and other relevant tools. Architect and implement data warehouse solutions on Azure Synapse, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and domain experts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for large-scale datasets, considering factors such as data security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement data governance policies and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, stored procedures, and data processing workflows. Stay updated on the latest Azure services and features related to data engineering and incorporate them into existing and future projects. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business insights and operational excellence. Qualifications Proven track record of designing and implementing data solutions on the Azure platform, with hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization techniques in a cloud environment. Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala for data manipulation and transformation. Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT processes. Familiarity with industry-specific data challenges and requirements in the oil and gas sector is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
