| Job Title: DevOps Engineering Specialist Client: Freddie Mac Location: McLean, VA (Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) Employment Type: 6-Month Contract to Hire Hourly Pay Rate: $50-$60 per hour on c2c Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship About the Role: Freddie Mac is seeking a passionate and skilled DevOps Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that support multiple IT applications with continuous modernization in progress. Key Responsibilities: Build and enhance software applications for mandatory reporting to the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Collaborate with Product and Business teams to ensure high-quality product development and release. Work closely with Architecture, Stakeholders, Operations Partners, and Business Product teams to refine solutions and practices. Drive the modernization of Freddie Macs services, enabling rapid, incremental changes to production. Develop and maintain DevOps engineering functions focused on platform availability, scale, and performance. Implement automation and proactive/predictive alerts using strong data analytical tools. Improve system health through self-healing, resiliency, and continuous feedback mechanisms. Lead the instrumentation of APM in production and non-production environments with comprehensive dashboards. Ensure robust service monitoring and capacity planning to maintain uptime and performance. Automate responses to non-exceptional service conditions and prevent problem recurrence. Qualifications: Bachelors or advanced degree or directly relevant professional experience. 10+ years of experience in delivering solutions using the Software Development Life Cycle. 5+ years of experience with complex SQL queries, AWS, and Unix environments. Proven experience in operational and organizational management, team leadership, and enterprise-wide technology strategy. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with excellent communication abilities. Proficiency in AWS, Python, Java, and scripting languages such as Groovy, Ansible, Selenium, and shell scripting. Experience with CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins and Spinnaker. Familiarity with code quality and security scanning tools like Fortify, Checkmarx, and SonarQube.
