Make sure your individual speaks good English. Ability to model in third normal form (3NF). If they are experienced in 3NF, they will have little problem coming up to speed on our data models. Ability to write queries against the data model using ANSI SQL, especially proficient with left joins and common table expressions (CTE). Basic understanding of RDS objects (including views, materialized views, triggers, packages, etc.). Basic PL/SQL skill. They should be very skilled in SQL, but our PL/SQL is fairly basic.
