The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe development, architecture, and overall administration for large-scale, complex systems. This role requires advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe Natural programs and JCL to support project and operational needs. Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and application code. Identify opportunities for automating manual processes through data integration between mainframe and external systems. Adhere to agency-defined change control processes and procedures. Provide support for the development, architecture, and overall administration of mainframe systems. Develop and execute unit and system test plans to validate application changes. Participate in project teams to conduct analysis and documentation in a collaborative manner. Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with program requirements and standards. Maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule, with flexibility to work outside normal business hours if necessary to sustain operations or complete urgent assignments. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer/Programmer Analyst with Natural programming expertise. 8+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale mainframe systems including TSO/ISPF, JCL, DB2, and VSAM files. Strong experience in design, analysis, implementation, and production support of applications. Ability to create project documentation, including technical specifications, process workflows, and database specifications. Experience troubleshooting and resolving incidents in mainframe environments. 4+ years of experience in testing and database management systems such as IBM Data Studio and Squirrel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize business impact and urgency. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a global environment. Additional Skills: Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly. Experience with systems support, security reviews, and maintenance tasks.
