This role is focused on system configuration and automation within a lab environment and is not an operations role. The position involves contributing to the road map for the next 3-5 years of our Linux infrastructure, including the management of golden image configurations. We are looking for candidates with a deep understanding of Linux systems, particularly RedHat, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux, along with strong automation skills using Ansible and Terraform. Key Responsibilities: Manage and configure Linux systems (RedHat, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux) with a focus on system architecture and engineering. Develop and maintain golden image system configurations. Contribute to long-term road maps for Linux environments over the next 3-5 years. Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Terraform to streamline system configuration and deployments. Maintain version control using tools like GitLab and BitBucket. Work with RPM and Debian-based Linux distributions. Collaborate with other engineers in a lab setting, focusing on on-premises solutions. Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus, though not required. Requirements: 10+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer, with a deep understanding of Linux systems (RedHat, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux). Expertise in both RPM-based and Debian-based Linux distributions. Solid experience in automation tools, particularly Ansible and Terraform. Familiarity with version control systems such as GitLab or BitBucket. Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus. Must have on-premises experience; cloud and DevOps experience is not required for this role. Strong engineering focus, not administrative or operational. Skills Breakdown: 60% Linux expertise (system configuration, architecture, golden images). 40% automation experience (Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, BitBucket).
