| Software Automation Test Engineer Summary The Software Automation Test Engineer will work collaboratively as part of a co-located agile project team, pairing with developers and testers to develop and maintain automation tests within the defined automation framework. This individual must be innovative, self-motivated, a quick study, and willing to develop new skills while constantly improving existing abilities. This person must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Job Responsibilities: Develop, optimize, and refactor automated tests and utilities Monitor automation processes and prepare defect status reports Develop automated tests using the defined automation framework Integrate tests into the make/build process for continuous integration efficiency gains using frameworks such as Bamboo or Concourse Ensure that Automation scripts function well across all supported platforms Support non-functional testing with automation and test data as needed Review automated tests and provide suggestions to improve the quality of the test Communicate test results and highlight any potential quality risks Ensure test automation design is traceable to requirements, user stories, or existing manual test cases and achieves a high level of requirement/test execution coverage. Interact with product management, development teams and testers to develop a strong understanding of the project and product testing objectives Function as an integral part of the agile project team Pair with developers as needed on development activities Required Technical and Project Experience: 5+ years in a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Automation Engineer role Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar (or equivalent experience) Experience coding in Java 8 with multi-threading , thread safe collections (High Priority) Prior experience using Selenium to automation UI tests (High Priority) Prior working experience with TestNG, writing assertions (High Priority) Experience with Restful Services/ Web Services testing using Java (High Priority) Experience in working as part of a Test/Behavior Driven Development (TDD) /BDD or Agile XP project team CI/CD experience using Bamboo or any other CI/CD tool. Experience pairing with developers or testers to design and build test automation. Proven ability to write automated test scripts to verify data structures, data formats and data values using the following tools: Java JUnit TestNG, writing assertions Selenium Cucumber Maven Gradle Apache Restful Services Experience with database development concepts (MarkLogic or Oracle experience a plus) Experience working in a continuous integration or continuous delivery environment Experience in API testing, XML, Web Services, REST API Experience working within DevOps tools, frameworks and workflows preferred Experience with load and/or performance testing tools a plus Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work well in a team-oriented environment Ability to work with minimal supervision, manages priorities, and stay organized -- Keywords: continuous integration continuous deployment user interface information technology Colorado Sr Software Automation Test Engineer | 3 Day hybrid in Chicago, IL (PLEASE SHARE ONLY LOCAL PROFILES) [email protected] |
