Network Project Manager

Hybrid at Milwakkie , WI

Discussions with the Team:

  *   The PM should be in Milwaukee (Onsite , Hybrid role) as he/ she would need to visit to Data Center few times in a week.

  *   Project Manager with some Network experience (not Senior PM), Firewall, and Switches etc. There will be a Program Manager and Network Lead as well.

  *   PM with very good communication and people person. Migration experience is Plus.

  *   The role would be high visibility.

  *   May get involve with 2-3 projects.

  *   Rate: $70-$75 (4-serve rates all inclusive)

  *   Preferred Central Time

Role Specifics:

* Manage 3rd party supplier relationship to ensure accountability and delivery dates are met

* Liaise with technical teams, using Network migration and implementation experience to drive delivery, identify potential gaps and find solutions

* Work with Delivery Teams to coordinate new network circuit orders, provisioning, equipment installs, relocations, and decommissioning

* Have an ability to understand organizational and project finances, including CAPEX and OPEX splits, profit and loss and accruals. Be comfortable with financial approval processes.

* Work as a collaborative member of the Global IT PMO Team, supporting colleagues as necessary

* Be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, understanding their audience

* Must be driven, delivery focused and tenacious. Must enjoy a challenge.

Overarching principles:

* Responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery of projects including

* Defining the project charter, roles, tasks, milestones, budgets and measures of success

* Develop detailed integrated project plan and consolidated resource plan

* Help teams manage their finances by facilitating feature and capability estimations, tracking execution, and ensuring adherence to Lean Budget Guardrails

* Manage project economics, including CARs, VMO go requests, planned cost, actual cost, and variance

* Track spend against program budget and intra-program dependencies

* Creating and maintaining project documentation

* Facilitating day-to-day coordination while adhering to standards and sponsor expectations

* Acting as the link between the assigned project resources and key stakeholders

* Ensuring project closure including completion of lessons learned and required documentation

* Use disciplined project management methodology to define scope, develop project plan, and execute projects that adhere to guidelines and deliver within cost and schedule.

* Cross-business unit/IT communication, influence and negotiation required.

* Responsible for tracking project status and managing project issues and risks

* Monitoring projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress/quality, managing issue resolution

* Managing the process to assess gaps and develop action plans to address these gaps

* Promoting and monitoring compliance activities with audit and information policies

* Develop robust project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity.

* Responsible for building and leading effective project teams

* Liaise with IT Business Partners and with the Solution Delivery teams to be sure that outcomes are being delivered on-time, in-scope, and on-budget; facilitate mitigation planning as needed

* Using problem-solving/critical thinking skills, and independent thinking to overcome challenges.

* Communication to project team members, key stakeholders and sponsors

* Adapting to cultural and organizational climates across global team.

* Manage individual work styles and development of project staff

* Serve as primary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives within a highly matrix environment.

* Work with cross-functional team, contractors, and vendors to deliver critical projects.

Experience

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required;

* One year or more of Project Management experience in a large multi-unit organization required.

* Experience in a project manager role with at least one networking projec, preferably with , global teams, other project managers, and application leads.

* Project Management Accreditation (APMP, PMI, Prince 2 or equivalent) preferred.

* Good project management skills. Knowledge of project management vocabulary and terminology. Mastery of project domain.

* Strong communication, negotiation, analytic, and critical thinking skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively.

* Excellent facilitation and presentation skills. Cultural adaptability.

* Virtual and remote team management experience

* Independent and innovative spirit. Flexible and responsive to input.

* Needs to demonstrate Servant Leadership. The PM must demonstrate that he/she is there to help achieve the project outcomes/meet the needs of the customer.
