Therefore, candidates submitted should be relatively LOCAL to be able to easily get to the office inperson once per week as required. Certifications AND Dates they were acquired MUST BE on resume. Any education and certifications the candidate has must be listed on the resume WITH the dates each degree/certification was acquired. The Data Documentation Specialist is a contract based position within the Division of Education Analytics and Resources of the New Hampshire Department of Education. The specialist will be responsible for documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data handling, and creating detailed data maps and flow charts for assessment and accountability related data. These documents will outline the processes of data rostering transmission to assessment vendors, and the subsequent reception, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of assessment results. The specialist will ensure that all data processes are clearly mapped and documented, promoting transparency in how data is managed and utilized. Additionally, the role involves maintaining up to date documentation that complies with state data governance and privacy policies. The specialist will also provide insights into potential database consolidations and the potential impacts of such initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), data maps, and flow charts, for data handling, rostering, and ETL processes. Ensure that documentation aligns with state data governance and privacy policies. Collaborate with teams to understand current data management processes and identify areas for improvement. Provide feedback and recommendations regarding database consolidation projects and assess the potential impacts. Ensure all data process documentation is accurate, clear, and up to date. Maintain organized records of data processes and changes to enhance data transparency and accessibility. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in Data Documentation: Minimum of 2 years of experience documenting complex data processes, including SOPs and dataflows. Technical Writing: Ability to translate complex technical processes into clear and concise documentation for both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Data Management Knowledge: Strong understanding of data handling, ETL processes, and data governance. Proficiency in data visualization and flowchart tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucid chart, or equivalent). Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to ensure documentation accuracy. Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with data analysts, developers, and state level stakeholders. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Experience in Education Data Systems: Familiarity with assessment data processes, student information systems, and accountability measures in education. Database Management Knowledge: Understanding of database structures, particularly in the context of large scale educational data systems, specifically proficiency in reading SQL code and stored procedures and interpreting SSIS packages. Experience with Data Integration Projects: Prior experience supporting or documenting data consolidation or integration efforts. Certifications: Data governance certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar.
