We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join our team supporting the infrastructure needs of a local government agency. This position focuses on managing and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, with responsibilities in Kubernetes (K8s) administration and ELK stack maintenance. The role will involve mostly system administration with some cloud infrastructure work, as we continue our ongoing migration to the cloud. Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in Linux systems administration (preferably RHEL). Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) administration and orchestration. Experience with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for monitoring and log analysis. Strong knowledge of system patching, updates, and security management in an enterprise environment. Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience is a strong plus. Certifications in RHEL, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), and/or Google Cloud are highly desirable. Experience in cloud migrations or hybrid cloud environments. Additional Information: This position is based on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana, working with the local government IT department. The contract is full-time with no specified end date, providing long-term stability. You will be part of a team modernizing infrastructure and migrating services to the cloud, providing a great opportunity for skill development in GCP and cloud infrastructure.
