On-site 5 days a week.General Function: The Principal Solution Architect will work independently with minimal management oversight and will act as a technical leader across multiple initiatives. The architect will play a crucial role in evaluating, designing, and implementing solutions aligned with the technology strategy of the business line. This role requires expertise in Java, microservices, API development, and reactive architecture principles, with a focus on financial services systems. The candidate will act as a liaison with third-party vendors, ensuring seamless software alignment with business objectives.Duties and Responsibilities: Define the long-term vision for products and domains and lead the technical execution towards that vision. Collaborate with business units and IT squads to incorporate software changes and ensure smooth implementation. Consult with Product Owners on technology roadmaps, evaluating whether to retain or phase out in-house and third-party software. Serve as the primary liaison with software vendors to track changes and ensure alignment with business needs. Design, document, and maintain technology solutions ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Create maintainable, testable, and automated solutions aligned with best practices. Identify opportunities for collaboration and reusability across teams. Provide technical coaching to junior engineers and promote continuous improvement across the organization. Stay updated with technology trends and actively contribute to company-wide communities of practice. Provide operational support and troubleshooting for complex technical solutions.Required Skills and Experience: Bachelors degree in technology or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of relevant engineering experience with Java, microservices, and platform engineering. Expertise with Java 17+, Spring 6.x, and Spring Boot 3.x. Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and backend services. Strong understanding of reactive architecture and microservices-oriented development. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) using JUnit. Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog. Experience with container-hosted applications in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments. In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices and modern data architecture principles. Ability to analyze legacy platforms and translate business needs into modern architectures. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a willingness to collaborate across departments. Agile/Scrum development experience (2+ years).Nice to Have: Banking/Financial Services background. Familiarity with core banking systems like deposits, debit card processing, ATM, and check processing.
