In this role, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting existing Power BI solutions for our client in the transportation industry. This is a contract position requiring a strong understanding of data management, analysis, and visualization. Responsibilities Sustain existing Power BI solutions, focusing on their availability, reliability, and management of associated contracts and maintenance. Collaborate with business lines to understand and define their objectives. Participate in scoping sessions to prioritize opportunities and define the scope of BI solutions. Extract, transform, and load data from various sources using SQL, working under the guidance of the Report Development Lead. Design and develop mock-up reports for proof-of-concept reviews. Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, including reviewing data loads for accuracy and completeness. Develop system reporting solutions based on the specific needs of the business, working in conjunction with the business lead. Create, validate, execute, and document test cases. Support EAM integration with Power BI solutions. Configure Power BI to communicate valuable information to business lines. Develop end-user training materials and conduct training sessions. Provide support during the implementation go-live phase and post-go-live activities. Troubleshoot system problems and errors reported by users and assist in their resolution. Qualifications 7+ years of IT experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience with HxGN EAM or other EAM/enterprise data management software. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience using Microsoft Power BI analytics software. Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and implementing Power BI solutions, including modeling, design, development, and testing of data visualization or paginated reports. Proficiency in Data Analysis (DAX), M, ETL (Power Query), and SQL. Solid understanding of relational database concepts, design, and functionality. Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical staff, management, and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 1-2 years of experience in the Railroad/Transit industry is preferred. Experience working in an Agile project delivery model is a plus.
