This role requires a deep understanding of data management processes, technical knowledge, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Programming Proficiency: Utilize programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis. ETL Development: Develop ETL processes using tools such as Informatica, Talend, or custom scripts to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources (e.g., EMRs, billing systems). Cloud Solutions: Experience with cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) is a plus. Compliance Collaboration: Collaborate with compliance teams to adhere to HIPAA and other healthcare regulations regarding data security and privacy. End-User Support: Provide support for end-users in accessing and utilizing data through reporting tools and dashboards. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize database performance and ETL processes to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, performance, and system outages. Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle). Data Modelling: Familiarity with data modelling tools (e.g., ERwin, IBM InfoSphere) and ETL tools. Healthcare Standards: Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and data interoperability is desirable. PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage data warehouse development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business needs. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Coordinate resources and manage project teams, facilitating communication and collaboration across departments. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary. Ensure quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle and prepare comprehensive project documentation. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data warehousing and healthcare technologies. QUALIFICATIONS: 9+ years of experience in data warehouse development, specifically within the healthcare sector. 3+ years of experience in data warehousing, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proven experience in data warehouse development processes and methodologies. Expertise in designing and implementing data models, including star and snowflake schemas, to support analytical requirements. Proficient in designing and developing ETL workflows to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create insightful dashboards and reports from the data warehouse. Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing code and ETL scripts in a collaborative environment. Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who: Has extensive experience in data warehouse development specifically within the healthcare sector. Possesses strong technical skills in ETL processes, programming, and database management. Is knowledgeable about healthcare regulations and data standards.
