| From: Vijay, Techrakers [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Big data Engineer Remote Need Locals to DC, MD, VA Long Term Big Data Engineers and Software Engineers with a minimum of 4 years of experience that develop, test and support business users - Test driven environment (responsible for testing their own code, there is not a separate testing function) - Ability to build and understand requirements, prototype & build quality software products - Designing data pipelines & flow of data - Review and analyze complex process, system and/or data requirements and specifications across a major program or project or several small projects or programs - Candidates must have a Bachelors degree Candidates who are motivated to learn with a growth mindset & strong problem solving skills - When it comes to problem solving skills, the most important part is the ability to navigate a problem well with critical thinking skills - Must be able to understand business challenges they have solved for on previous projects Tech Stack - Spark - must have experience with Spark as 90% of their work will be in the Spark ecosystem building apps in Spark using one of the coding languages below - SQL, Python, or Scala required (at least strong coding skills with one of these, ranked in order of preference) - Ability to pick up additional coding languages & learn on the job is key - Cloud experience (AWS preferred as FINRA is a very advanced AWS shop) Job Description Bigdata engineers and Software engineers that develop, test and support business users. Interface with other team members and other teams in peer review of requirements, specifications and software.
