Need local Need LINKEDIN We are seeking a talented Backend Developer with specialized experience in the Bazel build and test framework to join our team. This role will be pivotal in our project to merge our polyrepo and monorepo backend code bases into a single cohesive repository, fostering a unified development culture across our organization. Responsibilities: Utilize Bazel Framework Expertise: Lead the adoption and optimization of the Basil build and test framework to support multiple languages, ensuring robust and efficient development practices. Backend Development Excellence: Develop backend services primarily using Java and TypeScript, focusing on fault tolerance, scalability, and performance. Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conduct and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and high code quality standards. Cloud Environment Expertise: Preferably leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for backend services; familiarity with other cloud environments is acceptable, particularly if experienced with integrating Bazel. Project Leadership: Contribute to a significant cultural shift by consolidating our backend repositories, working through complex technical challenges and unknowns with a proactive mindset. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and frontend developers to support releases, diagnose and fix bugs, and maintain operational excellence. Requirements: Proven experience with the Bazel build and test framework, ideally in a large-scale enterprise environment. Strong proficiency in backend development using Java and TypeScript, with a track record of delivering scalable and fault-tolerant systems. Experience with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a willingness to adapt to other cloud services as needed.
