The GIS Lead will oversee software automation, GIS specialist resources, and the modernization of the NYS GIS legacy platform. This will include building a new GIS data warehouse and migrating data to the enterprise geodatabases. Job Duties: Implementing strategies for the system development life cycle (SDLC). Overseeing the project and playing a role in communicating technical and nontechnical functionality and requirements. Configuring and working with databases and developing functions and queries. Developing, testing, and deploying GIS software and GIS datasets. Developing scripts and or object orient programming (python preferred). Running GIS data ETL workflows, manually or through scheduled automation, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications, and logging. Required Skills: 10+ years: Experience implementing strategies for SDLC (system development life cycle). Experience overseeing large scale technical projects, and playing a role in communicating technical and non-technical functionality and requirements. Configuring and working with databases and developing functions and queries. Developing, testing, and deploying GIS software and GIS datasets. Developing scripts and or object orient programming (python preferred). Running GIS data ETL workflows, manually or through scheduled automation, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications, and logging. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in geography, math, computer science, or related. A minimum of 10 years of experience.
