Job Title: Operational Change Manager Maximo Upgrade Project Location: Saint Louis, MO Hybrid (Locals) Client: Utility Department: IT Business Technology Timeframe: 11-12 months Schedule: M-F, 7.5 hrs/day, 37.5 hrs/week Onsite Requirement: 3-4 days/week Visa: USC, GC & H4-EAD required Job Summary The Operational Change Manager will lead the implementation of the upgraded Maximo system for a utility company serving Missouri and Illinois. This role focuses on managing operational change to facilitate a smooth transition for users, working closely with leadership, technical teams, and end users. Candidates should possess a strong background in change management and experience with enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, particularly IBM Maximo. While OCM responsibilities may vary, the candidate may also engage in project management or business analysis tasks as needed. Project Background The role involves managing the upgrade from the current Maximo version to the Maximo Application Suite (likely version 9.0 or 9.1) and transitioning to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for future administration. Although major functional changes are not anticipated, Maximo impacts 700 of the 1,000 staff, necessitating dedicated change management support. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a change management strategy to drive end-user adoption. Engage stakeholders across operations, maintenance, procurement, and IT, acting as a liaison between technical teams and users. Assess the impact of the Maximo upgrade on workflows and recommend strategies for mitigation. Create and execute a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed. Collaborate on training materials and oversee user training efforts. Identify and address potential resistance to change, managing concerns about change fatigue. Define success metrics and report progress to senior leadership. Support post-implementation activities, including user feedback and issue evaluation. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, IT, or a related field. 5+ years of change management experience, preferably in utility or public sector environments. Proven experience with EAM systems, ideally IBM Maximo. Strong understanding of utility operations and asset management processes. Certification in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders. Proactive and independent, capable of developing and executing work plans. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments. Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
