Role: AS400 Cobol Developer Location: Schaumburg, IL (Only Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: 10+ years C2C: Yes, Only H1B Role Description: Key Responsibilities: Develop, test, and implement COBOL programs on the AS/400 platform. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Document system changes and technical specifications for future reference. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. Provide support for system upgrades and migrations as needed. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in COBOL development on the AS/400 platform. Strong understanding of RPG, CL, and SQL. Familiarity with tools such as SDA, SEU, and RDi is a plus. Experience with database management systems, particularly DB2. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Agile methodologies. Experience in a regulated industry (finance) is a plus. Certifications related to AS/400 or COBOL development.
