Title -ServiceNow Requirement - CMDB & Discovery Administrator

The CMDB & Discovery Administrator ServiceNow Platform will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB Data. The individual is ultimately accountable for the configuration and maintenance of the ServiceNow Discovery processes, CMDB Data and supporting Mid-Server infrastructure. In addition, this individual will work with a variety of departments throughout the organization representing the Center of Excellence of the ServiceNow Platform team.

Responsibilities:

Works as the Configuration Manager in the population of CMDB

Configures and Maintains Discovery Application

Interfaces with Compute, Storage, Network, and Security teams to assure access, credentials and permissions

Resolving discovery errors related to permissions and access

Assuring completion of scheduled discovery jobs

Assisting in the validation and testing of Discovery after upgrades

Reviewing the environment for changes and new requirements that may impact the Discovery solution

Assures downloads from the ServiceNow store occur monthly for CMDB Classes and Discovery patterns

Add new schedules, IP ranges, and credentials for new devices and environments as needed

Manages and Implements Integrations with 3rd party discovery tools, as needed (such as LogicMonitor)

Provide timely resolution to system or data problems via efficient and quality solutions

Develop effective working relationships with other departments, groups, managers and vendors

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in the field of computer science or information systems and 5 years related (Network/System) administration work experience required.

Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, lifecycle methodologies, best practices, and procedures within the (Network/System) administration field is required.

Extensive knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, CMDB and CSDM required.

Experience designing and implementing MID-Servers for ServiceNow Discovery required.

Experience creating / updating ServiceNow Discovery IP ranges and schedules required.

Experience must include knowledge of, and the ability to properly interpret and act on, CI IRE rules, discovery logs (e.g.: errors), patterns and probes (e.g.: debugging).

Knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, and REST required.

System administration experience using SHELL/BASH and / or PowerShell required.

ServiceNow platform development experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with XML and JSON/script language concepts strongly preferred.

Ability to write clear and concise communications required.

Ability to provide hands on training to users with different levels of experience.

Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio required.

High level of analytical, planning, and organizational ability required.

Experience receiving and working from program and creative briefs, business requirement documents, use cases, test cases, functional requirements, and business cases for large integration projects.
