Must be effective working independently as well as collaborativelyEssential FunctionsThe SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. They will also support the deployment processes for both Data Engineering & Analytics and Software Engineering Teams.Top Five Skills Required3+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required. Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization for a large-scale data warehouse. Experience installing and configuring new SQL Servers (preferably SQL Server 2016/2017 and above), some experience in Azure or AWS cloud computing is preferred. Experience with backups, restores, security audits/access control, recovery models, Disaster Recovery Options (DR), database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, database Replication. Experience in writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation. Understanding of Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Indexes, Views is a must. Understanding of T-SQL along with deep understanding of at least one scripting language such as Power, or Python. Experience in deploying and monitoring SQL Server Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services environments. Performance Tuning including query rewrites, index changes, server configuration changes and or hardware scaling. To support software engineering deployments, knowledge of Microservices, REST, JVM (Java - Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate), NodeJS is a must. Understanding of Java, J2EE, Javascript, Python, YAML, JSON programming.
