Position AWS Data Engineer with Python Location Reston, VA - On-Site Position Type: Contract Rate $65/Hour on C2C Client: Hexaware / End Client: Fannie Mae Share Local Candidates Only Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes on AWS Cloud. Build and manage data lakes, warehouses, and streaming data solutions using services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, and Lambda. Use Python to build data transformation, ingestion scripts, and automated solutions. Optimize and monitor data flows and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in pipelines. Implement best practices in data security, governance, and compliance using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows. Monitor data pipelines using CloudWatch, SNS, or other tools and create alerts for failures or anomalies. Use SQL and NoSQL databases (like DynamoDB, Redshift) to structure and query datasets. Required Skills and Experience: 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working with cloud platforms (preferably AWS). Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation. Hands-on experience with ETL tools and services like AWS Glue, Step Functions, and Lambda. Strong understanding of data lake, data warehousing, and stream processing concepts. Experience working with S3, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and other AWS services. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling for large datasets. Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or Terraform. Familiarity with API integration and RESTful services. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
