Role: Quality Engineer - Test Automation (Karate & Playwright) Location :: Austin, TX (Onsite) 12 Months Must Test Automation (Karate & Playwright) Job Description: Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in the Karate Framework and Playwright for UI and API automation testing. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, with hands-on experience in RESTful API testing and UI automation. The candidate will also support best practices in automation, act as an onsite lead, and effectively communicate with customers to resolve issues. Key Responsibilities: Perform analysis, design, design reviews, and development for test automation using Karate and Playwright frameworks. Create, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks, ensuring efficient and robust testing processes. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on best practices in Playwright and test automation. Lead UI automation efforts using Playwright, scripting tests to automate UI test cases. Conduct RESTful API testing with expertise in JSON, JSON-LD, and JSON Schema concepts. Continuously debug and improve test cases, ensuring reliable and accurate test results. Represent the Quality Engineering (QE) perspective in team meetings and planning sessions. Act as an onsite lead, prioritizing the QE point of view in planning and estimation. Collaborate with development teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs and quality issues. Develop and monitor testing processes, utilizing automation frameworks effectively. Communicate with customers to address and resolve issues, acting as a liaison for technical support. Required Skills: Automation Frameworks: Proficiency in Karate and Playwright frameworks. API Testing: Strong understanding of RESTful API concepts, including JSON, JSON-LD, and JSON Schema. Scripting Skills: Ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Java, VB, or Perl. Continuous Integration: Experience with CI processes and tools like Jenkins. Test Management Tools: Proficient in version control (GIT), defect tracking, and test management tools (JIRA). BDD Framework: Experience in BDD frameworks for test automation scripting. Build Tools: Hands-on experience with Gradle, Maven, and Eclipse.
