Mainframe COBOL Developer Location: Eastern or Central/ REMOTE Initial Duration: 1 Year PERFORMANCE DETAILS 1. Whats the major objective(s) of the role Specifically, what does this person need to do to be considered a success What will they be working on Work will be to create data extracts to support the conversion of Group Dental business from a legacy mainframe application. 2. What are the MUST HAVE technologies for this position(Please list must have technologies / technical skills and what the candidate needs to do in order to be considered great at them) 1. COBOL 2. JCL 3. Working knowledge of VSAM file structures 3. What are the MUST HAVE Critical Skills for this position (For critical skills, please also describe what the person needs to do with them in order to be considered very good at it.) 1. Strong analytical skills 2.Able to work independently and provide delivery estimates based on project expectations. 4. What are the NICE TO HAVE technologies you wouldnt mind seeing on a candidates resume 1. Familiarity with EZTrieve. 2. Familiarity with Endeavor 3.Familiarity with CA-7 scheduler. Does this position support DentaQuest Operations No Is specific industry experience required no Will computer equipment be provided Yes Qualifications 5+ Years of Experience o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience. o Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development mainframe environments; knowledge or relevant technology, tools, and middleware is critical. o Strong in both breadth and depth of experience with multiple programming languages and development techniques. o Capable of complex project work . o Strong ability to accurately estimate project development activities. o Ability to work in a fast paced team environment. o Minimum of 6 years experience in business application design, development, installation and modification in an IT environment. o Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in mainframe computing environments desirable; in-depth experience in one or more areas is critical.
