AWS Platform Engineer Lynchburg VA TCS Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Platform Architect to join our team. The AWS Platform Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, best practices, and a strong technical background in AWS services. Key Responsibilities: Architecture Design: Design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions on AWS, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices. Cloud Strategy: Develop and implement cloud strategies, including migration plans, cost optimization, and governance models. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools (such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform) to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources. Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2). Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of AWS-based applications and services. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using AWS Lambda, Python, or other scripting languages to streamline operations and enhance productivity. Disaster Recovery: Design and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate AWS solutions into the overall IT strategy. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the cloud architecture, processes, and procedures. Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and training to team members on AWS best practices and new technologies. Required Skills: AWS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, IAM, and CloudWatch. Cloud Architecture: Strong experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures, including microservices, serverless, and containerized applications. Security Best Practices: Proficiency in AWS security services and best practices, including IAM, KMS, security groups, and VPC configurations. Automation Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Scripting and Programming: Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts and services within AWS, including VPC, subnets, routing, VPN, Direct Connect, and load balancing. DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices. Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
