| From: Anamika, RCI [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role: Senior Red Hat Satellite Consultant Location: 100% Remote [Raleigh, NC] Duration: 6 months approx.. 752 hours Visa - USC only Job Summary : Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Red Hat Satellite Consultant to support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Red Hat Satellite for a public sector client. This role involves the installation, provisioning, operations, and integration of Satellite and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) within a multi-site infrastructure. The consultant will collaborate with client teams to establish standardized processes for managing and updating RHEL hosts, including workshops to provide knowledge transfer and operational guidance. Key Responsibilities 1. Satellite Installation and Configuration Install and configure Red Hat Satellite server, including one (1) server setup and integration with infrastructure services. Configure applicable networking, storage, and geographic parameters, along with DNS, DHCP, and security controls. 2. RHEL Host Management and Lifecycle Operations Lead workshops on content lifecycle management, including connectivity requirements, OS patching strategies, and server roles. Execute content view promotion and syncs, set up Capsules for content synchronization based on organizations, locations, and environments. Use Ansible Remote Execution for system automation and deploy the Red Hat Insights client to monitor RHEL hosts. Develop and document the clients Red Hat Enterprise Linux host patching and backup strategy. 3. Provisioning and Post-Configuration Configure RHEL kickstart-based provisioning: creating necessary groups, profiles, subnets, domains, and compute resources. Provision up to ten (10) RHEL hosts, both virtual and bare metal, based on kickstart configurations. Ensure successful integration with client identity and authorization systems and configure user roles (admin and standard users). 4. Content and Security Management Set up security configurations, networking, and package management as part of RHEL image creation. Implement Red Hat Insights integration for monitoring and execute remediation plans as required. Review and document security, logging, and monitoring systems as per client compliance standards. 5. Documentation and Client Knowledge Transfer Prepare documentation for system architecture, role-based access controls, and operating procedures. Conduct mentoring sessions to train the client team on Satellite and RHEL management, emphasizing operational best practices. Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise : Advanced experience with Red Hat Satellite and RHEL, including setup, patch management, and content lifecycle operations. Automation Skills : Proficiency with Ansible, especially with Remote Execution and automation of patching and provisioning tasks. Infrastructure Knowledge : Skilled in configuring networks, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and working within a multi-site environment. Client-Facing : Ability to conduct workshops and provide guidance on best practices for RHEL and Satellite management. Documentation : Experience in creating comprehensive operational and architectural documentation. Travel and Expense = This role is remote with no travel required, and there are no reimbursable travel expenses. Project Goals and Deliverables Fully operational Red Hat Satellite platform integrated with client systems for RHEL management. Provisioned and documented RHEL environments for up to ten (10) hosts with detailed security and content lifecycle configurations. Training and knowledge transfer sessions to ensure the client can independently manage and maintain the Satellite environment.
