Role: Engineer Technician Senior Quality Control: Performing quality control reviews of work products, both in the field and office, to ensure products are accurate and depict the project controls and data to support the project. Viewing plans or plats at the different developmental stages for compliance to standards. Photogrammetry: Completing photogrammetric element on a wide range of transportation projects from location study through post construction. Applying photogrammetric and survey principles and practices to achieve project requirements. Engineering Surveys: Conducting a wide range of field survey activities for transportation projects from scoping to post-construction. Following VDOT policies and procedures and APELSCIDLA rules and regulations governing survey activities. Using a variety of surveying equipment and tools to locate and record field data. Conducting courthouse research on plats. Geographic Information System: Creating and maintaining geodatabases, mobile applications, web-based applications, and support of all GIS data needs for the Location and Design Division and other division as needed, statewide. Responsible for creating needed projects using the Esri ArcGIS suite of products for desktop and web/mobile platform (ArcGIS Pro 2.9X, ArcGIS Online, Portal, Survey123, Field maps, Web Map Builder/Experience Builder on an as needed basis. Computer Skills: Completing work processes using various photogrammetric, survey and digital terrain modeling hardware and software applications; as well as other non-engineering hardware and software. Maintaining project computer files. Establishing and applying procedures to manage the history, locations, access and format of survey related project files. Completing work processes using multiple survey, CADD, and digital terrain modeling software, as well as other non-CADD applications.
