This role is in one of their anomaly detection organizations that is scanning over 235 billion market events per day. Our client has built machine learning and rule based "patterns that are scanning this incoming market data looking for anomalies tied to manipulative or illegal behavior in our stock and bond markets. They are looking for strong (A players only) test engineers that have strong coding skills in Python and that have extensive QA experience dealing with back end, data heavy systems. Experience doing QA in big data environments is a giant plus. Strong SQL skills are also a must for this role with some demonstrated data testing experience. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or Physics 4-6+ years of experience working as an SDET or Quality Engineer in the Banking/Financial industry Need to have experience structuring and executing complex SQL queries Experience doing back end, data testing using SQL Hands-on experience programming in Python, Java and Scala AWS Experience Experience with SQL and relational databases Proven expertise in writing and execution test plans Proven expertise in writing automated test cases Quality focused mindset Exhibits strong communications, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills. Preferred Skills: Experience in a big data environment Experience working with Spark SQL (structuring new code, not just augmenting existing queries) REMARKS Project: Surveillance Patterns - 35+ ML and rule based patterns that scan north of 300 Billion market events a day in 3 separate platforms (stocks, bonds and options) that does anomaly detection trying to find data that corresponds to illegal or anti-compliant behavior from the broker/dealer firms. The role is to work on a cross-functional team that supports Market Surveillances. The day-to-day responsibilities will be to review changes made to the data pipelines, and verify their correctness and risk, by writing and maintaining automated tests. Additional work involves updating the testing framework, helping debug production issues, and shepherding changes through the release pipeline for deployment.
