| Lead Front-End React Engineer Hybrid at Chicago, IL (Local Only) USC & GC Only Contract- 6-month contract with ongoing need JOB SUMMARY FOR TECHNICAL LEAD: As a Lead Front-end React Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of Private Passport, an innovative application that empowers users with self-service capabilities like balance inquiries, transaction history, and mobile deposit capture. Transitioning from a "self-service" model to a "service excellence" approach, this application aims to enhance functionality and provide advanced reporting tools to assist customers in making informed investment decisions. Join us in transforming user experience in the financial services sector. Coding Experience: Over 5 years, with a strong emphasis on front-end development; the candidate should excel at coding and mentoring others (70% of the role will be coding and verifying code). Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills are essential, as the candidate will lead a team. Enzyme Proficiency: Required for unit testing. React Expertise: Must have extensive experience with React, the primary technology used by the team. Unit Testing Capability: Strong hands-on skills in coding and writing unit tests are mandatory. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TECHNICAL LEAD: Develop new greenfield and brownfield products using ReactJS. Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use. Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code. Collaborate with teams to leverage micro-FE frameworks/components for application modernization. Optimize components for performance across diverse web-capable devices and browsers. Facilitate code reviews and debug defects. Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions for Private Passport Accounts pages, proposing new designs and improving existing ones. Partner with business leaders to define priorities and deliver custom solutions. Provide consultation to management and staff on project development cycles. Offer technical expertise to enhance the Private Passport application. Lead and guide staff, promoting teamwork and communication. Carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR TECHNICAL LEAD: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. At least 8 years of professional development experience, including complex project work with cross-functional teams. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR TECHNICAL LEAD: Minimum 5 years of strong programming skills in JavaScript, React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js. Experience in building user-friendly external-facing websites (including mobile) using JavaScript frameworks. Preferred server-side programming and automation experience. Automated testing experience (e.g., Mocha, Jest, Enzyme). TypeScript proficiency. Experience with Redux or other state management libraries. Data visualization experience (e.g., D3, Chart.js). Strong UI/UX design sense. Familiarity with code style guides (Airbnb preferred). Experience with relational and document databases and SQL. Knowledge of web application security principles. Experience with Webpack or similar module bundlers. Team leadership experience. Highly motivated, self-directed, with solid execution skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
