| Need Only Local from New York (WITH LOCAL ID) 2ND Round FACE TO FACE Interview Required Role : Sr Scala Developer - New York NY 10036 United States - 2 days onsite 2 interviews total 12 months contract with possible extensions Minimum OPT visa, H1B etc as long as they can do C2C Candidates must be near to New York since 2nd interview is a mandatory onsite F2F with Client 3-4 yrs of Scala and 7-10 yrs of Java Backend development is preferred Preferably no gaps or not more than a 6-9 months gap since their latest or most recent role JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Senior Scala Developer with extensive experience in developing and maintaining software using the Scala programming language. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java/Core Java. Note: We are not seeking candidates with a background in Hadoop or Big Data for this role. Key Responsibilities : Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using Scala. Utilize Java/Core Java expertise to support and integrate applications as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in a timely manner. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Document software processes and contribute to technical documentation. Qualifications : 3-4 years of Scala experience. 7+ years of Java experience. Strong proficiency in backend development with Java/Core Java. Relevant certifications are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Skills : Prior experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment. Understanding of financial market operations or financial applications.
