Position: Epic Application Analyst Level 3 - COB000001329 Onsite/Remote: Remote Duration: 06 Months Job Description: Principal Duties: We are searching for a certified Revenue Cycle Principal Epic Developer. The developer will be highly technical, and mentor others on their code and reporting capabilities. The principal developer will be responsible for developing sophisticated reports and visualizations in the different domains associated with Revenue Cycle (HIM, Grand Central, HB/PB). This includes the ability to create Reporting Workbench reports, Radar Dashboards, SQL extracts and SlicerDicer queries in Epic. It would be extremely beneficial for the report writer to be familiar with business objects tools such as WEBI reports, and data visualization tools such as Tableau. It is imperative for the report writer to understand key building blocks of a report writer including building out rules and properties, using the build wizard, running back fills, understanding registries, metrics etc. As AI is shifting to a more predominant role in healthcare it would be a bonus if this person was familiar with predictive analytics and Generative AI in the Epic space. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership and Strategy: Foster continuous education of reporting/visualization tools and clinical workflows. Develop and execute a roadmap for continuous improvement and innovation in Revenue Cycle Data solutions. Mentor Revenue Cycle developers on reporting best practices and solution development. Provide presentations on solutions and initiatives to DnA and other leadership. Data Solution Development: Drive the design, development, and implementation of data solutions within the Epic EMR system. Work on and lead technical tasks regarding tickets and Nova Notes. Leverage your expertise in Epic and non-Epic data structures, data models, and APIs to develop innovative BI solutions from non EMR tools such as Business Objects. Data Governance and Quality: Follow data governance practices and standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency within the Epic EMR system. Implement data quality controls and validation processes to ensure the reliability and usability of data solutions. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and executives, to understand their data needs and provide guidance on data solution development. Regularly scheduled meetings with stakeholders are needed to ensure Quality Assurance. Build and maintain strong relationships with Epic representatives and user groups to stay informed about system updates and best practices. Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear and actionable insights. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED SKILLS: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study. Epic Certified Revenue Cycle Additional Certifications (preferred) Analyze, provide specifications for, and write individual reports to support the many clinical/financial modules Have a clear understanding of Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, SlicerDicer and other Epic reporting tools Design SQL extracts as needed Experience with Chronicles, Clarity and Caboodle High-level SQL and relational database knowledge, including primary and foreign keys, joins, etc. Deep understanding of system build, end-user workflows, and pattern of use. Both technical skills to design and write reports, as well as operational knowledge to understand what report consumers need to see Knowledge and familiarity with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau Knowledge and familiarity with SSAS Cubes and Business Object Webi Reporting Validate Model System reports and identify advanced reporting needs with reporting consumers Meet with application analysts (AA) and report consumers to understand reporting needs Epic BID certifications in other non-reporting modules preferred Minimum Qualifications: Under varying levels of direction and expertise, is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate wide clinical systems. Specifically, collect and transform large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements; develop and modify requirements documentation for the design and implementation of clinical information systems; critically evaluate information from various sources, distinguish user needs from actual business needs and partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of actual and proposed projects as well as assist in managing stakeholder expectations. We are looking to fill positions in the following Epic modules: Inpatient Clinical Documentation, Stork OB, Inpatient Orders, Infection Control, Long Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Beacon Oncology, OpTime Peri-Operative, Anesthesia, Radiant Radiology, Cupid Cardiology, Laboratory, Willow Pharmacy, ASAP Emergency Department, Care Management and EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart, EpicCare Link, Kaleidoscope Ophthalmology, HOD, and HomeHealth. General Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include: Analyze and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications. Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business and clinical needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards. Convert information gathered into details including data sources, data and user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs. Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements. Provide project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities discovered during the gathering of requirements; assist team in developing solutions. Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in accordance with project schedule. Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups as well as oversee and execute follow-up activities. Ensure software development team accounts for all defined requirements in coordination with quality assurance team. Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards. Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process. Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials. Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders. Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects Develop and execute project presentations. Participate in special projects as required. Provide training to and serve as a mentor for Junior Clinical Business Analysts and/or other appropriate project team members; manage and evaluate work products for assigned team members. Lead the training, development, and implementation of process improvements for all projects and applications. Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies. Provide supervision and direction to junior clinical business analysts, clinical business analysts assigned at Levels I and II, consultants, and/or other appropriate project team members. Interview Junior Clinical Business Analysts, Clinical Business Analysts assigned at Level I and II, consultants, and/or other appropriate project team members. Due to the responsibilities of your position, you will be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hours. This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours. Preferred Qualifications for The Job: Certification(S)/Nys License(S): Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one year Epic Certification Other Preferred Skills: Clinical Background (preferred) At least 2 full life-cycle implementations (preferred) Educational Level: A Masters Degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience serving as a lead in soliciting, defining, and managing requirements for internally and externally developed software in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area: or, one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience as described above; or A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
